FAQ

Answers to your questions

  • What area do you serve?
I teach in the Headwaters region - Orangeville, Erin, Alton, Shelburne, Caledon. Sometimes I will have you meet me in Orangeville for lessons as that is where we have the best teaching opportunities. We will discuss that when we are setting up lessons.
  • Why are there two different courses online? What is the difference between the ‘theoretical’ requirement and the ‘digital self directed’ requirement?
The simplest way to explain this is, Beginner Drivers Ed has the following components outside of the in car lessons: A) 20 hours classroom or theoretical instruction – some programs have the student attend a physical classroom for this where the student sits at a desk and the teacher at the front of the room teaches the course through power points on a screen. My course does this portion online so the student can go through the power points at their own pace and in the comfort of their own home. B) 10 hours self directed online learning – all students complete this online in addition to the ‘classroom’ learning. It can be completed simultaneously with the classroom course.
  • What does the course include?
The Beginner Drivers Ed program includes the 20 hours of classroom instruction which is completed online with TrubiCars (trubicars.ca) in the comfort of your own home at your own pace, 10 hours of self directed online learning and 10 hours of in car instruction.
  • Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely. I want good driver training to be accessible to as many people as possible. So talk to me and we can work out a plan.
  • Does your program qualify me for lower insurance rates?
YES! This is an MTO approved program. Once the student completes all online and in car instruction they are certified with the MTO. You will have to provide your insurance company with a Driver's Licence History which shows completion of driving school and qualifies you for lower rates.
